RM of Antler’s story
The Rural Municipality of Antler No. 61 was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 13, 1909. It lies in the southeast corner of Saskatchewan, in Census Division No. 1, and covers a little over 800 square kilometres.
Within its boundaries are the unincorporated communities of Antler, which is a special service area, and the localities of Frys and Wauchope. The town of Redvers is surrounded by the RM, and the municipal office is located there.
A Canadian Pacific Railway line, the Souris to Arcola to Regina section, runs through Antler, Frys and Wauchope. Highways 13, 8, 600 and 601 serve the area around Redvers, with Highway 600 carrying on east to the Manitoba border. The RM is governed by an elected council and an appointed administrator, who meet on the second Tuesday of each month.
